A fusion of recycled Kimono and traditional Mizuhiki. Create your one-of-a-kind "Wa (Japanese)" art clock with two professional artists.
外国人・日本人観光客に大人気の「着物」。旅行の記念に着てみたいけれど、高価でかさばるため、お土産にするのは難しいという悩みがありました。
一方、日本では大切に作られた着物が、リサイクル店に多く集まっています。私たちは、この美しい着物生地をなんとか活用できないかと考えました。
Kimono is extremely popular among foreign and Japanese tourists. Many wish to wear one as a souvenir of their trip to Japan, but the challenges of being expensive and bulky often make them difficult to take home.
Meanwhile, many cherished Kimono in Japan are being sold to recyclers due to the decline in Kimono usage, resulting in a large number of fabrics gathering in recycle shops with nowhere to go. We sought a way to utilize this beautiful Kimono fabric.
そこで生まれたのが、着物生地を使ったアートボード時計です。日本の伝統工芸である「水引」も加えることで、日本の美を凝縮したアートが誕生しました。2人のプロ作家がコラボレーションした、金沢でしか体験できない特別なワークショップです。
This led to the creation of the art board clock using Kimono fabric. By incorporating the traditional Japanese craft of "Mizuhiki," we gave birth to art that concentrates the essence of Japanese beauty. This special workshop, a collaboration between two professional artists, is an experience unique to Kanazawa.

- Select a beautiful pattern of your choice from a wide variety of prepared recycled Kimono fabrics.
2.着物アートボード時計作り（約45分） / Kimono Art Board Clock Creation (Approx. 45 min)
- 選んだ生地を使い、時計盤を簡単に作ります。難しい工程は事前に準備済み。制作は私たちがお手伝いします。
- Use the selected fabric to easily create the clock face. Difficult steps are pre-prepared, and we will assist with the creation.
3.水引アート制作と飾り付け（約45分） / Mizuhiki Art Creation and Decoration (Approx. 45 min)
- 水引作家のサポートのもと、時計盤に飾る水引4つのうち1つをご自身の手で作ります（残り3つは事前に制作したものをご用意）。
- With the Mizuhiki artist's support, you will create one of the four Mizuhiki decorations for the clock face with your own hands (the remaining three are pre-made).
4.仕上げ/ Finish
- 最後に、ご自身で作った水引と用意された水引を、着物生地の時計盤に自由に飾り付ければ、世界に一つだけのオリジナルアート時計が完成です。
- Finally, arrange your handmade Mizuhiki and the pre-made ones freely onto the Kimono fabric clock face to complete your one-of-a-kind original art clock.
